March 2001 Meeting Minutes
Introduction of the Board
Homeowners present 12.
- Board member said that the Arch. Com. is coming up with a design for those annuals to be planted in the entrance & that perennials will be discussed at a later date.
- The annuals decided on are sweet potato vines in front, purple salvia in the back and purple grass in the corners.
Opened for Questions and Input
- The president explained that the north entrance has irrigation and that the south entrance does not.
- Once July comes along we will look at adding more perennials.
- The front two beds would have to be replanted with annuals every year. We will have the perennials to fill a majority of the bed, which will not need replaced.
- We are going redistribute a copy of the Bylaws so that everyone is assured to have a copy of the original sets that we all received at our closing. It will be in a manila envelope which you will receive the first week of April.
When this arrives throw your other stuff away and keep the certified version. Some people from the community were nice enough to volunteer making copies and distributing them. We appreciate that help and would appreciate more.
- The collecting data for creating the website. We are deciding if we should register a domain. It was recommend that we register a domain which is about $180 per year. $15 to register the name and $7-$10 a month for the server space. This would save the association money by getting people to sign up as electronic only homeowners. This would save on paper and postage. If 70% of the community receives their bill online it will offset the cost financially.
- As of tonight we only have three unpaid dues and two late fees and two in court for a total of $1922.04 outstanding.
- The Arbor Homes sign coming down as soon as they get the last lot sold.
- The 2000 taxes went out last week.
- David Rual owns "My Lawn Care"; he gave us a fair price to plow last year.
- We are already loosing light bulbs. We checked into it and the cost of $150 to dispatch the truck plus $100 per bulb. We felt that was too much so a 12' stepladder was purchased to maintain these bulbs. This ladder is community property and will be available to everyone for personal use.
- Every meeting will be the last Tuesday of the month at the Fishers Library.
- Common Grounds: we are going to go ahead and present the ideas during meetings and progress from there. Weighing issues based on size. At this point we can't see a better way to look at this and we are referring to the guidelines sent out about this.
- The Association has budgeted for a block party again this year. We are soliciting ideas and dates as input. We will have raffles and games but make it an actual block party by closing of the street. We would like to see it in the early summer so that people can meet each other before we go back in for the winter.
- The guideline is 30 days to get approvals. Please help by planning in advance so we don't hold up your construction date. The committee is trying very hard to get these done as quickly as possible, generally everything gets approved since people are reading there guidelines.
Feed Back and Opinions.
- H.O. Thanks for fixing the light posts. Are there any guidelines for fixing the yard lights that have not replaced their bulbs?
- B.M. We are sending out a friendly note out that lets the people know there light is out. This is needed for safety.
- Not mind a reminder.
- H.O. Are colored lights allowed?
- B.M. Covenants say immediately after the holiday you are to change the bulbs back.
- H.O. Is there anything about keeping that posts identical?
- B.M. Yes. There is a clear covenant that covers that. Lighting has been an issue.
- B.M. The general consense we have had is that it is your home but we must follow the guidelines for your community.
- H.O. asked about the pond planes stating that the fireside lane side is messy. And that they are in favor of a sprinkler.
- B.M. asked if they were interested in a sprinkler for aesthetics or to move the water around or both. We have quotes to do this & can afford it.
- H.O. Our subdivision is the only one that does not have onewhich is bad.
- B.M. The sprinkler would be to move that water so that it stays a pond & not a sees pool. The initial cost is about $6000.00. Specifications will be brought to the next meeting.
- H.O. Can we put one in this year?
- H.O. Most people seem to be in favor of it.
- B.M. we have to take into account the people who might not agree.
- H.O. suggests that we take a final listening avenue at the next meeting & if not we just do it.
- B.M. We have brought this issue up several times & no one has complained so we will move forward.
- H.O. Potential pool? What kind of costs are we talking about & what is involved?
- B.M. Costs are immense.
- B.M. We could afford it if we wanted too but this brings up many issues & has not really been taken very far.
- H.O. Is there something we can join to use a pool in the area?
- B.M. Yes. There are many areas with pool memberships available.
- H.O. I am for a pool in our neighborhood.
- B.M. Please send us a letter if you are interested & we will research all the costs.
- H.O. Fountain thumbs up to the board for getting this in the budget.
- B.M. It does impact the appearance of the neighborhood.
- B.M. The other pond near here is owned by the condos & we are going to force them to put a fence up as promised.
- H.O. What about a community trash pickup.
- B.M Would be less to do this. It might raise the dues but you would still save money on trash removal.
- H.O. I will send a letter to you to get this rolling.
- H.O. Issues with letting dogs roam is a growing concern. We clean up our yard & there is dog feces larger that what my dog is capable of. What can we do?
- B.M. We will address this.
- H.O. Newspapers. People are not picking up there newspaper & are just leaving them along the streets & sidewalks.
- B.M. Appreciate the comment. Please try as a community to pick up in a timely manor.
- H.O. Does the A.C. know how we get a survey of or property?
- B.M. The lines in the sidewalk along with plot plans work very well.
- B.M. We have the original surveyor plot plan if needed.
- H.O. I'll volunteer to make copies of plot plans.
- B.M. Anything else? We thank you all for your time.
